Fort Madison, IA – There are many candidates seeking office in the upcoming city elections throughout Southeast Iowa. One race is to become the next mayor of Fort Madison. Two current members of the Fort Madison City Council want that job, At-Large Alderman Steve Ireland and 5th Ward Alderman Jim Helling. Current mayor John Wright, who was appointed to the post in December, is not running. Fort Madison has a part-time mayor.
