Havana, IL – Havana, Illinois is working to increase the number of volunteers available for clubs or city activities. VISTA worker Axton Betz says a two-session course earlier this month focused on how to recruit and retain volunteers. Now a meeting scheduled next week will add community input to decide how the city come up with a database of possible volunteers ... and how groups could access that. Betz says one spin-off is that a volunteer coordinating committee has already been formed for the local school system .
