Hancock County Picks Ambulance Coordinator

Carthage, IL – Joseph Barlow is the new coordinator for Hancock County's new centralized ambulance system. Barlow is currently with the Adams County emergency system. He begins in Hancock County early next month. County Board Health and Miscellaneous Committee Chairman Ken Nudd says Barlow's experience in setting up computer systems, office systems and communication systems were in part responsible for his being hired. The new system will put ambulance operations in Carthage, LaHarpe, Warsaw and Augusta into one system. It will be funded by the county with a budget of $235,000 for the first year. Nudd says the goal is to try to keep ambulance responders in different corners of the county, with the advanced life support ambulance stationed in Carthage.
