Hamilton/Warsaw To Hit The Mats

Hamilton, IL – The Hamilton School Board has approved the creation of a Hamilton/Warsaw wrestling program for the 2006/2007 school year. Members of the West Hancock Titan Wrestling Club and their parents turned out for the board meeting in support of the sport. Club President Tim Schilson says the board's decision is exciting because the club was formed last year in anticipation of the district forming a wrestling team. The board questioned whether adding wrestling would affect participation in boys basketball, but chose to add the new sport on a unanimous vote. The Warsaw School Board has already voted to add wrestling as a winter sport for high school students.

The Hamilton School Board also voted to continue to pursue the issue of co-oping basketball with neighboring districts, but did not put a time line in place for any action.
