Hamilton Names First Responders Coordinator

Hamilton, IL – Hamilton now has a leader for its proposed first responders program. The city council has hired police officer Rob Bell to serve as coordinator. Mayor Steve Woodruff says Bell's time as an emergency medical technician prepares him for the post. The annual salary for the part-time job will be $4500. Bell will also serve as ESDA director in the near future. Woodruff says 35 people have expressed an interest in becomig a first responder, with roughly half of them interested in taking the required certification courses. He says it could be up to a year before the state fully certifies Hamilton's first responder unit.
