Ground Broken for New Health Center

West Burlington, IA – Ground has been broken for the Community Health Centers of Southeast Iowa's new facility in West Burlington. It will be located on the campus of Southeastern Community College. It will cost an estimated $2.5 million to build the center, which should be finished by mid-February. CEO Ronald Kemp says it will be a major upgrade from the organization's current center in Des Moines County and will allow it to offer better healthcare. Kemp also says 10% of the new building will be used by SCC students for lab and course work. Kemp says the organization serves about 5,000 patients in the Burlington-West Burlington area. It also has clinics in Keokuk, Warsaw, and Hamilton.
