Fort Madison Man Faces Terrorism Charge

The Iowa Department of Public Safety says a Fort Madison man has been arrested on charges of terrorism and intimidation.

Authorities say Dillen Eaves, 18, paid an unidentified individual $1,200 in January to conduct drive-by shootings on the homes of two law enforcement officers.

They say Eaves also gave the person a gun to use in the crime.

Eaves has been charged with two felonies: Conspiracy to Commit Terrorism (Class B) and Conspiracy to Commit Intimidation with a Dangerous Weapon (Class C).

He is currently being held in the Lee County Jail.

The identities of the targeted officers and the agencies they work for was not released.

The Iowa Department of Public Safety says local, state and federal agencies were involved in the investigation.
