Former Burlington Alderman Out on Bond

Des Moines County Corrections

Chris King, 41, was released from the Des Moines County Jail after posting bond Monday afternoon. King was arrested in early May on several counts including sexual abuse, indecent exposure and providing alcohol to minors.

A judge reduced King's bond to $42,000 late last week and added a series of conditions, should King be released, including restrictions on where King could go and who he could see.

Police say they have identified more than 35 girls between the ages of 13 to 18, who claim to have been molested by King. They say in most cases, King met the girls through his photography studio. He is accused of offering them alcohol then driving them to remote areas in the county where they were attacked.

King's trial is set for late July.  He served on the Burlington City Council from 2002 to 2005.
