Former Burlington Alderman Arrested

Chris King, 40, was arrested after a lengthy investigation into him having illegal sexual contact with several teenage girls. King served on the Burlington City Council from 2002-2005.

According to the Burlington Police Department, "On Feb. 7, Burlington detectives were notified by multiple concerned parents that their daughters had been sexually abused." The ensuing investigation revealed that the teens had been photographed at Daisy Frames Photography Studios in Burlington, which is owned by King.

Lt. Jeff Klein said the girls were contacted via phone, text message and social media after their initial sittings, telling them they could receive a discount on the photos if they provided assistance at the studio.

Klein said King would give the girls alcohol and drive them to "locations in rural Des Moines County where he would require them to 'play' sexually oriented games."

Search warrants conducted at King's residence and business revealed multiple items that corroborated the victims' accounts of the events.

Klein said a single detective has logged more than 500 hours on this lone case. He said multiple victims have been identified.
