Films From Around the Globe

Macomb, IL – There will be some changes to the International Film Series in Macomb, which resumes on Wednesday, August 26.

The most obvious change is the location. The series will take place at the new Rialto Cinemas on East Jackson Street.

The movies will still be shown on Wednesdays and Thursdays. But there will be four screenings each day rather than two. Show times will vary depending on the length of the film.

Theater co-manager Larry Jarvis says he chose many of the films with input from the public. He says the theater owners also helped with the process. "Basically, they went out of their way to book them," says Jarvis. "They're doing all the behind-the-scenes work and doing very well."

Admission is $5.75 before 6:00 p.m. After that, it's $7.00. Seniors 60 and older will be charged $6.25 in the evening and children 12 and under will be charged $5.75.

In recent years, the series has featured a mix of international films and American independent films. This fall's schedule contains more international movies.

The first week's movie is "Every Little Step." It's a look at the making of the 2005 revival of the Broadway smash musical "A Chorus Line."
