Macomb, IL – The guest on this week's Emphasis with Alex Degman is former U.S. Senator and Florida Governor Bob Graham.
They discuss Graham's book "America, The Owners Manual: Making Government Work for You." It discusses how Americans, namely students, can learn about their local, state and national governments and use them to their advantage.
Graham says the country's education system has shied away from teaching civics over the past few years, which is likely a big reason young people are not as interested in politics as they once were. He also says it could be a reason why political discourse has become so hostile.
