Macomb, IL – Rich Egger's guest is Macomb Community Development Coordinator Ed Basch. They talk about the upcoming census.
Basch says people should receive census forms in the mail by the middle of the month. The forms contain just 10 questions. Basch believes the Census Bureau will wait until April or May before it sends workers to homes that have not completed and returned a form.
Basch says a Complete Count committee was formed in Macomb this year to help the city's effort. He says each person in the city was worth around $132 last year in state revenue distributions.
He says the head count also impacts the school district and other units of local government.
