Macomb, IL – Rich Egger's guest is Janine Cavicchia, Director of the Women's Center at Western Illinois University. They preview events and activities planned for Women's History Month, which begins March 1.

One of the first events is the opening of the exhibit "Women's Art: Women's Vision." It features work by local women artists. The display can be seen throughout the month in the WIU Multicultural Center. An opening reception will be held March 1, 3:00pm - 5:00pm.

Cavicchia said a Calendar of Events will be distributed around campus. Information about events will also be posted on the university's website. Most events are free, though some require a fee and/or registration.

The national theme for Women's History Month is "Our History is Our Strength."

Cavicchia said the theme ties in nicely with the Women's Center's 25th anniversary celebration and the 40th anniversary of the Western Organization for Women.
