15 people are running for three open seats on the Burlington City Council. The Oct. 10 primary election will narrow the field to six ahead of the general election in November.Tri States Public Radio talked to candidates about their campaigns and put together an online audio election guide. Election 2017 - Results - Burlington City Council Primary

The field of candidates for the three open seats on the Burlington City Council is now set following Tuesday's primary election. The top six finishers advance to the Nov. 7 general election.

Leading the way was Jon Billups, followed by former Mayor Bill Ell, incumbent Bob Fleming, Matthew Rinker, Lynda Murray and Scott Diehl. 

Voter turnout was less than 10%
