Eddington Files for Regional Superintendent

LaHarpe, IL – The Assistant Regional Superintendent of Education for Hancock and McDonough Counties will run for the top post. Gary Eddington filed his petitions to run on the Republican primary ballot next spring. He would replace Bob Baumann, who has indicated he will not run again. Eddingon says the major issues during the coming term will be continuing funding from grants that provide teacher training, homeless education and other programs. He says the office handles more than $2 million in grants each year. Eddington taught 31 years in Hancock and McDonough Counties before becoming Assistant Superintendent a little more than six years ago.
