Colchester, IL – A developer wants 31 acres in the southwestern part of Colchester added to the Enterprise zone. Zone administrator Kim Pierce says the change would allow a housing development. Pierce says the zone administrative board has been told the town has not had new housing built in several years. She says this is in part because there are few available building lots available. The change in the zone boundaries must be approved by the McDonough County Board and the Macomb, Bushnell and Colchester city councils before state approval can be granted.
