Crowded Field for Burlington City Council

Plenty of people want to serve on the Burlington City Council.

The filing period for candidates has officially closed with eleven returning their petitions so they can run for three open seats.

The list includes the three incumbents, several former city council members and some newcomers to politics.

A primary will be held on Oct. 8 due to the number of candidates.

The top 6 will advance to the Nov. 5 municipal election.
