Macomb, IL – The McDonough County Board's Finance Committee has finished going over the spending requests for its new budget. Now it will try to estimate next year's income. Chairman Bob Harwick says most departments projected level spending for the fiscal year that begins Dec. 1. He says the list of requests will be sent to the county's auditor, who will project income for the coming year. When that's completed, Harwick says the Finance Committee will trim spending where needed. He believes the county will be able to avoid deficit spending in the coming year.
