County Board Told 'No Cover-Up'

Macomb, IL – A computer was seized several months ago from the McDonough County Highway Department to investigate allegations that it contained pornography. It was in the office of then-county engineer Josh Richardson. It was accessible to several employees. State's Attorney James Hoyle says the hard drive was duplicated and sent to the Illinois Attorney General's office to see if there were grounds for prosecution. Hoyle has assured county board members that the hard drive was not erased and there was no cover-up. Hoyle says his predecessor decided an outside agency should determine whether prosecution was warranted.
