Macomb, IL – One of the goals for the Macomb Park District's executive director this year is to complete a long-range development plan. The park board recently approved a contract extension for Ray Peterson and he says that will provide him with an opportunity to work on the plan. The pact gives him a 3.3% pay raise, bringing his annual salary to $68,000. Peterson says preliminary details of the long-range plan could be available for public review within the next couple months. The plan should be completed by the end of the year. It will cover much of the park system, with one of the key properties being the 80-acre University Drive site. Peterson says it's possible the site could include trails and athletic fields. Peterson says the plan will not include Glenwood Pool because a citizens group is studying the community's pool needs.
