Monmouth, IL – Senior citizens will be one of several groups to benefit from a community technology center in western Illinois. An old silent movie theater on the third floor of Monmouth's Patton Building will be renovated to house the center. Lantern Learning Center's Paul Schuytema says the purpose of the center is to educate and connect local citizens. Residents will be able to take classes that show how to use technology, how to start and maintain a business and how to market on-line. The center will also be open to casual users.
