Macomb, IL – McDonough County's Law and Legal Committee has recommended paying for another owner-occupied tax exemption. Attorney Earl Bracey had asked that a package of five back exemptions be granted. He said the county's notification procedures were "clearly not adequate." Committee Chairman John Lawson said his group believed the application of Laurie Kost had been properly filed, but denied the exemption to other applicants. The suggestion goes to the full county board later this month.
