Macomb, IL – Township clean-ups in western Illinois are gaining an extra benefit -- paint and electronics recycling. The Emmet Township cleanup over the weekend filled about 4 large dumpsters with everything from windows to lawn furniture. Tri-County Resource and Waste Management Council Director Chad Bratz says paint and electronics were set aside to be kept from the landfill. He says his organization has segregated about 16 tons of electronics to be taken to Peoria for recycling. The agency is also preparing to recycle latex paint for sale.
