Macomb, lIL – The Macomb City Administrator has asked for and received the public works director's resignation. Terry Wrestler resigned as director of public works April 3. He had been on a seven-day administrative leave for failure to follow purchasing procedures. City Administrator Mike Hays said in a prepared statement both he and the city council had lost faith in Wrestler's ability to fulfill the functions of the job. Hays says no plans have yet been made to find a replacement. He says staff will be called on to fill in as the city faces the beginning of a busy construction season.
