Carthage, IL – Carthage has the final easements needed for a new water line to connect its Hamilton Pipeline with the Water Treatment Plant. Mayor James Nightingale says the line will allow Hamilton's water to flow into a storage tank at the treatment plant, bypassing the above-ground water tank. He says this will allow the city to get up to 125-per cent of its normal maximum usage directly from Hamilton. Nightingale says this is only a way of extending the town's water supply. He says the city council is discukssing long-term meassures.
