Carthage, IL – Planners in Carthage are trying to add more activities for younger children to their Independence Day celebration this year. Committee Member Sandy Folkerts says they plan the standard list of activities for adults and teens, including a dance and the fireworks show. However, she said members noticed not enough things for younger children to do last year. They're working on some games, and want to bring in a child-size train on rubber tires that will traverse the sidewalks around the square.
