Illinois State Police said the snowy conditions Friday morning played a part in a traffic crash between a United School District school bus and a car.

The collision happened around 7:20 am on Route 67, north of 210th Avenue.

ISP said the driver of a Pontiac, Caitlin Volz, 21, of Monmouth, was northbound when she lost control on the snow-covered road.  She slid into the southbound school bus and then spun into a ditch.

She had to be extricated from her car.  Volz and three passengers on the bus were taken to OSF Holy Family Medical Center in Monmouth, where they were all treated and released.

ISP said Volz was cited for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident.
