Canton Gets Bike Trail Money

Canton, IL – A group of Fulton County organizations will get $481,000 in state transportation grants for a biking and hiking trail. The transportation enhancement grant will help link two Canton parks on a route that will also pass by two schools in the north part of town. Fulton County engineer Bill Kuhn says the groups involved see the bike trails as an economic development engine that will help attract developers as well as improve the quality of life. Kuhn says the group plans up to 40 miles of trails around Canton, and another group of trailes around the Dickson Mounds Museum and the Emiquon refuge across from Havana.
