Burlington School Superintendent Retiring

The Burlington School District will soon be in the market for a new leader.

Superintendent Jane Evans has announced that she will retire on June 30, 2014.

She will step down after 40 years in education, including the last decade in Burlington.

The school board has scheduled a special meeting for 4:30 P.M. on Wednesday, May 14.

The board is expected to accept Evans' retirement at that time and discuss the search for her replacement.  That could require the hiring of an interim superintendent.
