Burlington Police Investigating Shooting

The Burlington Police Department has identified a person of interest in a shooting that occurred early Tuesday morning in the 300 block of Curran Street. The victim, only identified as a 43-year-old male, is recovering after being shot in the head.

Lt. Jeff Klein said officers and ambulance personnel were dispatched to 318 Curran St. at 2:44 a.m. on a report of shots fired and found the victim. He was taken to Great River Medical Center in West Burlington before eventually receiving life-saving treatment in Peoria, Ill.

Lt. Klein said investigators believe an argument between the victim and another unidentified person occurred outside of the home on Curran Street. Klein said the victim is cooperating and witnesses have been interviewed.

The identity of the person of interest has not been revealed either.
