Two Burlington firefighters were sent to the hospital after being injured while battling a fire early on New Year’s Day.
One remains at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington. The other was treated and released.
The name and condition of the firefighter who is still being treated have not been released.
The fire happened in a six-unit, two-story building. Four occupants were taken to the hospital for treatment and then released.
The fire department said the fire started in the basement, burned up through the first floor, and damaged the second floor.
The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
