Builders Ignoring Plat Regulations

Macomb, IL – McDonough county's clerk wants help getting builders to follow the subdivision ordinance. Florine Miller told the county's Law and Legal Committee at least three homes are going up in the county where builders did not get county approval beforehand. Miller says regulations call for a minimum three-acre lot size. If lots are smaller, the development must be platted and get county approval before construction. Committee members indicated they would consult with the state's attorney. The county's regulations are designed to assure safe wells and effective private septic systems.
