Ameren Missouri confirmed Sunday morning that search and rescue crews had recovered the body of one of its employees from the Mississippi River. The company said in a statement that Ron Summers, 75, went missing while at work.

Michael Moehn, President of Ameren Missouri, said Summers was a longtime hydro technician at the Keokuk Energy Center.

"Ron was a member of the Ameren family for more than 50 years," said Moehn. "He spent his entire career at the Keokuk hydroelectric generating facility and was the most senior member of Local 148. He is fondly remembered as a valued co-worker, an avid photographer and an active member of the local community, including his commitment for many years as a volunteer firefighter."

Foul play is not suspected.
