The Battle Against Meth

Macomb, IL – Illinois law enforcement, legislators, and community members are joining together to fight the meth problem in the region. New laws that go into effect next month will require retailers to keep certain cold medications behind a counter. Customers will have to sign a log and show identification to buy them. Meanwhile, the West Central Illinois Drug Task Force is working to educate people about meth. Among other things, the group has former meth addicts talk to school children about the dangers of the drug. Reporter Frankye Robinson talked to experts and a former addict and filed a feature that you can hear by clicking on the audio button above.
