Aldermen Deal With Pool and Bridge Issues

Macomb, IL – Macomb aldermen have agreed to test the waters on the Glenwood Pool issue. They voted Monday night to seek information on how much an engineering study of the aging pool might cost. Mayor Mick Wisslead says the city needs an exact figure from two or three different firms before it decides what to do next. In other action, aldermen agreed to allow the police department to seek donations for purchasing two new K-9 officers. But they rejected a WIU Student Government Association request for a street light on the Wigwam Hollow Road bridge. The city says it will still look into the idea of putting reflectors on the bridge's guard rails.
