Macomb, IL – Former Western Illinois University head football coach Don Patterson says he and his lawyers have reached a resolution with the university.
A press release from WIU Athletics last September stated Patterson elected to step down due to health reasons. Patterson responded, saying that was completely false. He says the release was filled with fabricated quotes and misinformation.
Keokuk, IA – Public Works Director Gerald Moughler was relieved of his duties with the city late Friday afternoon.
Moughler says the news caught him off-guard, especially with so many projects underway in Keokuk. The list includes street repairs, disaster clean-up, and sewer separation.
Mayor Tom Marion says he has the sole authority to hire and replace a public works director. He says he discussed the issue, though, with each member of the Keokuk City Council prior to informing Moughler of his decision.
Macomb, IL – Despite all the talk of moving the US away from its reliance on fossil fuels, there is no Renewable Electricity Standard (RES) in the Senate's proposed energy bill.
The RES would require utilities to buy a certain amount of their power from renewable energy sources, such as wind farms, through 2025. The RES is being pushed by trade groups such as the American Wind Energy Association.
