There is also a book with the photos that is available at the library.<br /><br />Library Archivist Jeff Hancks says the library chose photos of statues in this region and in Springfield.<br /><br />They tell a lot about the sculptors and public perceptions of the 16th president.<br /> Fri, 22 Jun 2012 14:46:50 +0000 James Lenz 17159 at http://tspr.org Malpass Library Displays Photos of Lincoln Statues Malpass Library Receives Nielsen Collection http://tspr.org/post/malpass-library-receives-nielsen-collection <p>The late Dr. Maurice Nielsen has left a legacy beyond his contributions to the philosophy department he helped establish at&nbsp; Western Illinois University in 1959.<br /><br />His family has donated his personal collection to WIU&#39;s Malpass Library.<br /><br />It is the largest such donation in the library&#39;s history. It is composed of more than 9,000 items including nearly 3,000 books.<br /><br />Library Specialist Greg Phelps helped to catalog the collection.
