At the age of five and just having started Kindergarten, Silven “Silvie” Iris Yocum became a fatal victim of child abuse on September 16, 2006. Silvie’s Ride on June 16 is in her honor and in remembrance of all children who have died because of child abuse or are living with abuse in their lives. All vehicles are welcome, and pre-registration is not required. Vehicles can begin the ride immediately after registration. The event includes a full day of activities, including an all-you-can-eat breakfast starting at 7:00 AM (cost per person $7.00), and food and entertainment starting at 4:30 PM. Local band Bucket Fish is scheduled to perform.

Breakfast price: $7.00 per person
Registration fee: $20 plus $5 for passengers
Proceeds and contributions will help sponsor Silvie’s Ride, and will benefit child abuse victims / survivors of WIRC-CAA Victim Services in Hancock, Henderson, McDonough, Knox and Warren counties.
