Sensational Chef features local chefs who prepare a multi-course meal, based on their own favorite dishes, with wine for 25 guests.
On October 14 th , Travis Long, Co-Owner and Chef of Orange Ember will be serving a meal that will make taste buds explode with flavor. Guests will begin their meal with a spinach salad with homemade honey mustard vinaigrette. Seared scallop with pea puree as well as homemade butternut squash ravioli with a brown butter and herb sauce will follow as entrées. Guests will finish with apple pie flowers accompanied by homemade ice cream.
Each dish will be served with a wine, paired for taste and experience.
A Hy-Vee Wine Specialist will be on hand to help explain the reasoning behind each pairing so our guests can use the knowledge later if they wish.
Orange Ember is a family owned food truck business in Burlington, Iowa started by husband and wife team Travis and Ashlyn Long, with the help of their son Brody. Orange Ember specializes in farm to table meals with a hint of smoke. They started their adventure at the Burlington Farmer’s Market and have been expanding ever since.
